I ate more junk food today. therefore i need to starve myself this weekend. i was doing so good too. im in miami right now. the drive down was horrible. there was so much rain i could barely see. i'm probably coming back up to miami saturday or sunday, cause i have school next week. it seems i have nothing to be happy about or nothing to look ( Read more... )

nono! don't stop eating. if you are wanting to get fit and loose weight, starving yourself is the LAST way to do it. when you suddenly starve yourself after eating healthy amounts of food and calories, your metabolism freaks out and actually makes you GAIN weight. the key to controlling how you eat isn't to eliminate certain foods entirely (although it helps in the case of stuff that's really bad for you like soda) but to watch your portion sizes. did you know that a healthy serving of meat is only the size of a deck of cards? eating more than that is overindulging. you can see how America got so fat, eh?
so don't starve yourself! just gradually start eating smaller portions and cutting back on calories. that's the only healthy way to do it.

if you starve suddenly you don't GAIN weight. your body releases more insulin and slows down your metabolism, so if you eat you will store more fat. if you just starve all of a sudden your body will start to feed on your own body, but since its a sudden starvation it digests your muscle at first. muscle is actually more filled with better energy, thus your body digests it first, and then it switches over to fat.

i've always been taught (and i don't see it as beyond the realm of possibility) that messing with your metabolism like that CAN make you gain weight. whenever you fuck over your bodily functions crazy things happen. it also puts undue stress on your heart and if done too many times can cause heart attacks.

if you just stop eating, you can't gain weight, because you're not putting anything in your body to gain weight with. if you're just eating one meal a day then yes that slows down your metabolism and you will gain weight. its all about insulin. insulin tells your body to store whats coming into your body. so if you just eat one meal a day your body has stored up lots of insulin, and all of saying, "store all that shit". if you keep eating good fruits and vegetables as well protein all day your you keep the gluclose levels high in your body, and gluclose says, "burn it all!". gluclose is the opposite of insulin. so the more you keep coming into your body on a regular basis the less your body is able to stop and say, "store it".

yah when you starve yourself, your body like goes crazy and starts saving up and makes fat.

i'm reading this nutrition book that came to me when i ordered this protein shake and like it says that you should eat 40%carbs 40%protein & 20%fat. like what happens is your body uses up the carbs as energy and when its done your body needs to make more energy and it uses up fat and protein to perform gluconeogenesis. 40%protein is suppost to be enough to make gluconeogenesis and help you rebuild your muscles after working out, also protein increases your metabolism. and 20%fat should be mostly healthy fat, not saturated fat. your body also uses some types of fat in making muscle. and the amount of calories you should eat should be 15x per pound of body weight. also you should eat 5-6 meals a day, small meals but more often. that helps regulate the food going into your body. you should also eat more portions of food after you workout to rebuild your muscle and stuff.
that diets a pretty good diet, and you work out so you should try it.

Hey everyone thansk for the help. What I do is really cut down carboyhdrates to none cep from fruits. no bread or taht shit. sometimes i slip though when im in miami.
