... so I got my first guitar on Christmas day when I was 11. It was part of a Guitar Center starter kit for $300. The kit came with everything I needed: guitar, 15 watt practice amp, picks, strap, video, etc.  It was an Ibanez RG100... nothing special at all obviously. I remember sitting there, just moving my fingers up and down each fret, thinking

Good for you. You're lucky that Elmhurst is a great music school.
What kind of vocal training are you going for? Classical or whatnot.

I'm actually not sure yet. I'm going to take private lessons, but I'm not sure what they offer yet. I haven't looked that far into it, but its at the very top of my priority list when I start next week.

How are you enjoying school thus far?
