After 6 months of battling small cell cancer, my stepfather passed away at 9:30 in the morning on Sunday. He was 44 years old.

My stepfather, Anthony Baxter, was easily the greatest influence on my life since the time he came into my life when I was still in middle school. My life will be very empty without him.

I know we aren't close anymore but I'm sorry to hear about all that. My dad passed away the day before spring break like 9 months ago so I can relate. Your step dads wake is on my birthday. = (

hey thom, i know lj is not the best place to give you my support and love during this time. I just feel horrible and bad that i will not be able to attend the wake and be there in the flesh for you, due to finals. I am going to do my best to try and attend the funeral unless you would rather it be a family time of mourning, in which case i understand.
