A conclusion

just read my last few entries. I don’t use this forum of communication as well as I should. I have learnt a great many things over the years and I should be sharing what i know with my friends in an attempt to enrich their lives and make the world a better place. I vow that each journal entry i write from now on will contain either a point of view ( Read more... )

the mobile thing arks back to when phones where analog not digital, small sparks would happen insidce the phone all the time, as it was more switch reliant then I/O, but i digress, the idea was that the fumes may catch alight becuse of the spark - the fact that phones are sealed units never occured to the petrol companies
(i had a job in a mobile phone store one summer)
but your def right about the celluar pumps thing, hence why, even though in the UK we are on a digital network (works) the signs are still up

I saw a silly science programme- braniac or something where they did some experiments to find out why you shoudlnt use phones at petrol stations. Apparently it's something to do with static electricity (which goes boom with petrol) but i'm not sure what it was about mobile phones that cause static electricity. Typically, all I really remember is that they MADE it go boom..... fire and pretty explosions and stuff!

I have been told about this program. Althought i have not seen it I have been told it was incredibly hard for them to ignite the petrol with a phone and they did not manage it. However, it WAS possible to do it with static, which as we all know is present all over the place. So I think petrol stations should ban balloons in case anyone rubs them against a cardigan and holds it above thier head whilst filling up. :D

heheh
I dont watch TV. but if i did i would have gone "WAAAH! THAT GOTTIM!" when the explosion happened. I have a 2 hour long documentary on the atomic bomb set to classical music with william shatner doing the voiceover!
it's better than porn.

matt had it happen to him at sainsbury's petrol station in brookwood, using his phone while filling up his bike and the attendant ran out of the store towards him frantically waving his arms with a look of absolute terror on his face. obviously a believer. have you played lego star wars? the wedge quote makes me wanna go home and play instead of sitting at stoopid old work. see you soon? x
