good question. and the one thing that is missing from that post.
we need a mix of punishment and rehabilitation. we need people to understand that there are actions we do not condone, but we also need to ensure that people are given a chance to right their wrongs.
prison is imperfect, but it is better than killing. so i would lock them away indefinitely.
If you aren't going to give them the option of rehabilitation, what is the point of locking them up? Personally, I believe that the justice system should be based on rehabilitation, and I don't agree with the death penalty, but neither do I agree with this middle ground system which is neither. Why pay thousands and thousands of dollars keeping someone alive when you are never going to give them the chance to do anything but sit in prison
