Today mom and I went to an Al-Anon meeting today (I drove both ways). It wasn't the best meeting and I was feeling detached (in denial?) and almost burst into a hysterical fit of laughter a couple of times. There was some good information in there but I don't know if my mom is open-minded enough to continue going?

We came home and I cooked

Maybe you could talk her into trying different meetings if she doesn't like this one. I think Al-anon will really help her. Don't you? I wonder if my hubster would go to one.

I think it could actually help our family a lil bit though... I want my mom to understand why my dad loves AA so much, and maybe he'll eventually be able to understand some of the hurt he's caused us, so then my mom will feel more comfortable forgiving him enough to save their marriage.... and then if Connor goes to Ala-teen with me, then he won't have to live in that isolated world of resentment, he won't have to hate my dad like I did.
