damn, ol buddy! you're makin straight up real music here. really nice. I really appreciate the sentiment, I need this kind of thing these days. Your singing is pretty incredible, really. Excellent piano playing too. I'm super impressed. Do you ever play live performances? cus it seems like you should if you don't.

Wow. Long time no post! Livejournal has become such a ghost town for me that I've been wondering who's left.

Thanks a lot for the kind words. They're nice to hear because I've always struggled with my singing and I don't get a ton of encouragement. I don't perform, and it takes me awhile to post anything because I'm almost never happy with it.

What have you been up to lately?

Not being kind, I'm telling you my genuine appraisal of your work. If you can perform like this and it's not just post-production keeping it so tight (something I have to lean on heavily), you should be doing live gigs, getting paid, and moving CDs. The fact about art and music is simply that everyone has their own taste, and lots of people are assholes about it. People just won't find your style to their liking and they will tell you that you suck, but they are wrong. You're really great.

I haven't been up to much lately, doing little things now and then like putting my band's videos on our website. Kinda working a little on some new stuff but I've had a lot dragging me down and a lot of times I just can't work on things.

It feels weird to me that I write songs at all. I don't know where they come from. Once in a while an idea will pop into my head and I'll have to do something with it. I don't have anyone else to sing them for me, so I do it myself. I almost never show them to people other than my close friends, and since I'm just doing it for myself, I rarely get any indication of whether anyone thinks I'm any good or not
