[There's an important medical conference House's being paid to attend, but he got a little carried away last night and coffee is far more important than the stupid things his boss wants him to do anyday.
He insults the girl behind the counter's hair and tells her that the milky colour of her fingernails is probably a sign she's pregnant. He's a doctor after all. He'd know.
Now that he's got his coffee, he could theoretically head over and stun the other doctors with his wit too, but there's some nice sun in that window and he wants to see how long the girl behind the counter can go without bursting into the tears she obviously wants to burst into.
He sits himself down at a table, bumping it with his cane and possibly the man with the newspaper that he's ignoring and grins to himself the happy grin of a complete bastard.]
[there is a man sitting at his table. he pulls back the newspaper and looks over in surprise, before folding up the paper and tucking it under his coffee cup, then extending a hand]

[He turns back. Next in line to order, Mr 'I'm-Wearing-A-Red-Tie-So-You'll-Respect-Me' looks to be the likely candidate to make her lose it.]
