[ ANNA HAS A FUCKING PAD OF PAPER AND A PEN AND SHE IS ALL OVER THIS SHIT. ]

Have you taken the time to consider that they might be an extension of human law enforcement? Mutants working undercover and filling in as humans until their powers are needed?

If the mutants involved were working with the government, we would be aware of it. I can promise you, that those who participated in repelling this attack were not affiliated in any way with any known law enforcement branch of the United States.

If they were, as you suggest, law enforcement agents keeping their powers secret from their employers, then their actions were still unsanctioned.

[ KEEPING HER HAND UP FUCK YOU. ]

So are you saying the government doesn't condone acts preventing the harm of mutants?

[Keywords, bitch.] That's the opposite of what I'm saying. Rather, the government believes that it should be responsible for preventing the harm of mutants, rather than forcing citizens to feel they have to take the law into their own hands.

[In the Brotherhood's evil beach-house of evilness Magneto will be chillin' watching this, and looking increasingly unimpressed]

Of course, you teach the dog how to play fetch, and you think it's less likely to bite you.

[John has been standing, leaning against a wall and observing just as unimpressed, but also with a bit of anger bubbling up. The entire failed mission is a bit of a sore spot. He lets out a disgruntled huff.]

Better to teach it to play dead.

[It's okay, he'll find a way to blame it on Pietro]

Fools will fall for this drivel, believe that people are truly coming around. Then they will be surprised when they realise they've walked into a trap.

[Sprawled on the couch, yo.]

"Come on down, sign up for the mutant police department. Just sign here, here, here, give us a full demonstration of your powers and abilities, and then come right inside this cell for a tour of our state of the art prison facilities."

I'm glad they think so highly of us.

[This is a very important moment in mutant history, and as such, the Doctor finds himself drawn to that very place in time and space. The police box sits back, away from the crowd, but the Doctor is in the thick of it. Rose is at his side, possibly perturbed at what is about to come out of his mouth.]

Hello! [He waves his hand in the air, smiling politely until he's got some attention.] One question. How exactly do you plan on knowing a bad mutant from a good one. I mean, you're having trouble knowing who's a mutant at all, aren't you? So what's to say that all the nasty ones won't start playing nice in order to use that to their advantage?

[Satisfied that he's stirred up a bit of trouble, he shuts up and looks expectantly for some sort of answer.]

What? It's a fair question. [He gives her a grin.] Did you have something you wanted to add?

[An even more annoyed glance at that... thing.]

[Tersely] We are, in the wrong hands.

Wonder how long it's going to take them to find a new way to fit us with a trigger and scope to suit their needs.

[He was on shift at a coffee shop when this came on over the television. Hei can't really help himself and pauses from his work to watch it. There's an attempt to have his expression remain neutral, but it's possible to tell he does not like the sound of this...especially that last part. ]

[Probably doesn't help that he is holding a tray of food and drinks that he has yet to deliver 8D;; ]
