1) I like Dean because he's funny. He's brave and dedicated and just a wee bit bitter. He manages to worry about every eventuality while having bottomless hope. He's not self-destructive and he loves life, but he travels side by side with a soldier's acceptance of death. He has family loyalty. He's tenderhearted. He's a goober. He doesn't trust anyone. He's a killer. He's complicated like AVRIL.
2) Dean is also a woobie. I am compelled to rush to his defense with "BUT IT'S NOT HIS FAULT! IT'S THE WRITERS!", which makes him a worse woobie even than Cal.
3) Abhorsen AU where Dean is a necromancer. Or, alternately, where he goes off to college and Sam goes hunting with Dad.
4) There was a fic I read a few months ago (prior to Sam's telekinetic outburst) where, throughout, I thought Dean was developing telekinetic powers. That was kind of cool. But when I write Dean in RPs, my favored power is empathy. He instinctively knows how to approach people emotionally and to trigger emotion in them. Whatever his was, I'd like it to be a power he doesn't recognize. For someone in his line of work, Dean's quite a skeptic.
5) I don't think Dean will ever put his burden down long enough to fall in love.

1) I like Gerard a lot. Gerard is intelligent, geeky, earnest, talented, driven, principled, and pretty as fuck.
2) I dislike that Gerard is not dating me. Or mailing me hot gay sex tapes. It probably says something about me that I dislike the second far more than the first.
3) I would finish Don't Ask, Don't Tell, if I had to choose. Really, I don't have many Gerard stories in my head. I've idealized him and it's rough to write an ideal.
4) I'll give his answer. Flying. He always wanted to fly.
5) Gerard's OTP is his entire band. (I typed that 'hand', which is probably closer to the truth.)

1) I like Abby because she's freaking adorable. She brings goth mainstream. She has a neck tattoo. Kneesocks. Little skirts. Win!
2) The fatal woobie flaw. She's like Mary Sue, The Geek Years. Also, it kind of bugs me that, on a show that's about military supremacy and massaging civil liberties for expedience, she's the gateway character that reassures us It's All Okay. See, a cool counterculture person works for them! Embrace your robot leaders!
3) I'd of course do the kinky sex AU. Or give her a double like Willow's. OR AN EVIL LESBIAN TWIN WITH A LEATHER KINK OMG YES. *takes notes*
