The battlefield was deserted.

But not entirely empty.

It was deserted from mercy and humanity.

Here the armies let out screams of readiness, mingled with terrified uncertainty.

Each man present had left his family behind,

left his home and his friends.

To come to this ground.

The ground that will soon be soaked with their lives.

T_T So sad!!! I love how you went back and forth between the image of the mother back home and her son on the battlefield. And yes, it was clear that the black and red colors meant the color of their uniforms, MJ... :P

Wars are stupid and pointless. The rulers and presidents and leaders of such wars don't care about the lost blood of their people at the cost of one more victory or more lands to rule to be added.

I really liked this and I wish the battlefield was more modern so it brings to readers' minds the events that are going now to compare the savagery they both share.

Just want to cry T^T -sniffs- This is truly meaningful.. the idea is nice and the way you gave the story is good (switching between the mother's scene then to the Son's and how they both had their "hands on their chests") I really find it meaningful.

Sometimes I wonder, Why the hell must so many innocent people die because of the differences of ideology between a few people (their presidents who only want to be more powerful), and what makes killing in a war justified..
