I went dancing in the rain during AP phys today. I left the classroom with 80% of the class to watch the lightning strike poor birdies sitting on top of the street lights and listen to the thunder. [Note: When counting the seconds after lightning strikes to determine time, One second does not = one mile. To say that would be to say that sound travels at 1miles/s. Sound travels at about 300meters/s. Therefore 8 seconds is actually more like 2.4 km or 1.5miles rather than the eight miles its imagined to be. ]
I went dancingin the rain. Then it hailed. It hurt. I ran back into the room and did my lab writeup like a good little asian boy.
youre in AP phys x__x is it hard? DID IT REALLY STRIKE POOR BIRDIES... i never got the counting thunder thing. do you count how many seconds after and stop when another one strikes again? o__O i think it hails in sj a lot. it like never hails here. I MISS HAIL D: HAHAHAHHAHA!!
i always thought you had to count how many seconds the thunder lasted to determine how many miles.
haha yea, i like rain, but i've never walked in it cuz i'm sure my weak sauce body would give out on me if i did. >[ o well its good enough to just watch it splatter on a window. xD
