haha I know this was stressful but the entry made me lol a little. My memories of back to school shopping... well, I went to private school and we had uniforms so we just went to the uniform store and got those. When I was in public school for a couple of years, we had a pretty strict uniform code anyway (what colors, what kind of clothes).

School supplies... they used to sell them in packs? Or, since my mom didn't know English anyway, I picked them out myself.

Backpacks were whatever my mom picked for us, haha.

Why do you dump it all into boxes at the school?

I suppose its cause they stockpile for the entire year up front, and dole out as necessary. I cant think of any other reason to bring FIVE bottle of glue for EACH kid. You know?

Pissed me off last year, cause each kid got to pick their own pencils...and I was made when the Spiderman and Princess pencils got pooled. :-|

You know, back in my day, the only thing that got pooled were the boxes of tissue paper. Everything else was something you actually needed to have.

As for notebooks, I've found (over the last 19 years of school) that plain ones hold up best. I should know: I abuse everything I own. Just ask my laptop, which has been tossed around, had its processor pushed to the limit, and still works quite well.
