HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase

Right now I am preparing a 10 minute presentation on HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase and Efavirenz, a NNRTI antiviral drug. It's really weird because I'm worried that my presentation will be too long. I keep wishing that I had 15 or 20 minutes to present!! Since when did I start liking presentations enough to want to talk for more than 10 minutes at a ( Read more... )

I meant to post this earlier, but it never went through.

What kind of reverse transcriptase did he discover? E. coli? Human? HIV-1? And what specifically did he discover? Its existance, structure (I don't think it's this because I've been reading papers about its structure), mechanism of reverse transcription?

Yeah, if you can get me a summer internship at Caltech, I will love you forever. I am not kidding. :)

So "obvious" huh?

Anyways, where did you find the requirement about having to be in residence with my college before I can apply? I feel like I could get around it because they can still send mail to my school address and it will get forwarded to Shoreline. As for phone numbers, my cell phone number appears to be a NY phone number. I just won't be able to return the calls unless mommy and daddy let me know.

I just really like the acceptance rate for this program. Maybe if I make my proposal really convincing, which I think I can do, they'll really want me.

I meant that it's not obvious because I didn't know when David Baltimore was awarded the Nobel.

As for the Caltech business, I just contacted the director/organizer and she said I was good to go with applying there! :) I basically sent a list of reasons why I thought I should be eligible. YAY!

Now, do you know any awesome biology or bio-chemistry professors? I need to start reading some papers about research being done there. It'd be so awesome if I could be at Cal-tech during the summer. Then I can hangout with you and Wei and you guys can feed me and take care of me and be my parents!
