But can I ever complain. :)
I was informed by one of my clients (I don't remember which nicknames I've used for them, so I'll use The Doofi, as plural of The Doofus) that my account was locked because of a security concern. They have not given me any more information, they have just locked my account and told me I have to use a "clean" laptop that they will provide. Now, I'm not overly perturbed at my manager-person, because this isn't his fault. However, making me wait for a week and a half while they "research the issue" leaves me seriously dubious about the security credentials of the IT staff in general. A blind chimp could probably have completed a review by now, because how many different ways can you spin "something happened, we don't know what, but you're a convenient scapegoat"?
And now I'm not being fair, but seriously. I've been locked out of my account for a week and a half, I have a customer who has discovered problems in their app, and on Monday they will start being deluged with activity. I need to have this fixed last week, but I'm still locked out. And when pressed for an ETA of when I can come and pick up this clean laptop, the Doofi had nothing for me. So I've sent them a deadline, I need to pick up the laptop on Thursday so I can have the app working (as best as possible) for Friday, so my customer doesn't have a heart attack from the sheer stress of having a semi-working app. And there is, quite literally, no way to know what the problem is until I can access my email, because I have all error reports going straight there. (Mainly because I'm the only one who actually READS error reports, much less fixes the problems reported.)
So I'm all grumpy and feel like some insecure jackanape is playing with me just because he thinks he can. Because this is the sort of behaviour that I expect from a young male, within his first 5 years of working for a Real Company (excuse me while I laugh), high on his supposed knowledge and experience. *head/desk* Because frankly, the last one of those that I had to deal with avoided me like the plague when I was done with him. I have yet to meet the young, self-important male who can handle being shown up by a female. *rolls eyes*
In completely unrelated news, my son (Himself) has decided that he likes Queen. His favorite is Another One Bites The Dust, IIRC.
