writer's woes

Dammit. I have to have this thing written... I dunno, last night. And I'm stuck on ONE WORD. Out of millions I can't find ONE WORD. Because it is the last word. It is weighty. And it only has to mean "piece" or "thing" but neither or those words will do. Is it possible for a synonym of "piece" or "thing" be weighty if neither of those words would ( Read more... )

Wonderful. Thank you. In the end I went with "slag." It isn't a synonym for either "piece" or "thing" but it went with the content of the poem, helping the second stanza connect with the first - a common complaint toward this poem. But "word" would be interesting instead of "slag." It would be a whole different spin. I think I'll give it a test drive...
