Observational poeemmmm. I pretty much feel like I ignore the guidelines for all of our poetry assignments and just write whatever I want, but since I'm not even getting credit for the class, I also don't care ;)

I'm curious, because you're sososo good, so I have to ask.

How do you write poems and such? Do you get an idea, sit down, and bang it out all at once? Or do you write little by little in chunks?

..I can't believe you just asked me about my poetry-writing techniques..why are you so freaking sweet all the time? ;) I can't even tell you how flattered I am right now.

And most of the time, I write little by little -- I like to write down the sides of my notebooks in classes that I don't really care about (the non-English ones ;)) I pretty much keep going back and changing/adding/erasing until I have to hand in whatever it is, or until I don't even want to look at it anymore :)

You have no idea what those lines do to me. Very powerful. The whole poem has this aura of natural fluidity. The words are like little breaths, really...packaged together like it's just one long drink of melancholy.

I have this sense I could be this woman. And that's what I love about your writing...that ability you have to make the reader take pieces of your prose and wrap it into their own soul. I can't wait to see more. :)
