I agree with you on this 100%, and so does my Mom. :D (See, we were having a conversation about this just the other day, where it seems like pretty much everyone goes to college these days simply because they think they HAVE to and not because they want to get a career that requires it.) It's sad that so many people go even though they don't really want to because their parents force them or because teachers at school told them they need to if they want to make it in life. (That's pretty much what they always told me, too.)
It really is pretty sad. And even if someone wouldn't "make it" (whatever that even means), it's not like they're the first person to not make much money and lead a simple life. I think people forgot that society would crumble if everyone would "succeed." We need people working in factories and at construction sites for anything to get done.
Exactly! And even people who went to college don't always make it, either, so it's not like going is a sure thing. And yeah, if we all became doctors and lawyers and such then there'd be nobody left to build houses and pick up the garbage and etc. :/
