Synopsis: [AU] Being a rich child, Donghae got more than he's bargained for when he decided to attend a regular high school.

The place sure is packed, Donghae later thinks, as the three enters the largest complex on campus. Maybe it would’ve been better if they arrive sooner (because in a way, he still blames Sungmin and Kyuhyun for being late).
Striding through the large hall after the two- who are more focused on each other than him-, his eyes scan around with a bit of amazement and awe. There weren’t anything like this when he was tutored back home. Instead of seeing other kids his age, he was more adapted to see middle to elderly men and women with faces stern and postures straight as a ruler. And if he were to behave as carefree as the students here do, he would’ve gone through one hell of a punishment.
“Here’s the office, Hae.” Sungmin points out as he turns to look back at his cousin.
“Ah.” He gives a nod in reply.
And within three and a half minutes of waiting and unconscious feet-tapping, Donghae receives his schedule.
“Hey, you have first class with me.” Kyuhyun comments as he leans over for a peek at the paper. “And the last two.”
“No fair. I only have two classes with Kyu.” Sungmin’s lips juts into a slight pout as he too takes a look at his cousin’s schedule. “At least I got a class with you too.”
Donghae rolls his eyes a little. “That makes me feel so much better, knowing that I’m merely an addition.”
The older raises an eyebrow, stares at him for a while, and asks almost teasingly, “An addition, you say? Are you implying you want to join us?”
Donghae gapes at the comment while Kyuhyun makes a face, punching the buttons a bit harder than intended. Finally, after a long minute, the former reacts, “Eww! No way! I refuse! How could you even suggest that?”
“I’m only taking a guess.” Sungmin responds with a shrug. “No need to be offensive about it.”
Donghae’s mouth hangs open, unable to find the words to reply.
“Well, look at the time!” The older checks his watch with a bright expression on his face. “You wouldn’t want to be late on your first day, would you?”
Donghae pales a bit; then he presses his fingers against his temple in defeat. He knows he’s lost; he could see that growing grin spreading across Sungmin’s lips. “If I gain any white hair from arguing with you, hyung, I’ll know who to blame.”
“Whatever you say.” The other waves a hand as he turns to his boyfriend. “So are you going to come with me to my class, Kyu?”
“Hey! What about me? Kyuhyun and I have the same class together!”
“…So?”
“So? So? I’m the new student here! I need guidance!” Donghae all but whines. But then, he stops, realizing that this isn’t the kind a behavior he should be displaying. In attempt to cover it up, he clears his throat uncomfortably and asks as calmly as he can, “How am I going to find my class?”
“I’m sure there’ll be someone to help you.” Sungmin chirps, already pulling Kyuhyun toward the opposite direction by the wrist. “Just so as long as you talk to the right people, you’ll be fine. Anyways, see you at lunch, Hae!” And without another word, the two disappears into the crowd, leaving Donghae rather concerned and a little dumbstrucked. Didn’t Sungmin say that there are more snobbish people here than good? And isn’t he supposed to take care of him, considering that this is his first day here? What a careless cousin he is!
Heaving a sigh, he takes another glance at his schedule and strides the opposite direction. He swears, he will get them for this!

“Excuse me, can you-“
“I’m in a hurry, sorry!”
Donghae watches as the girl speeds past him, followed closely by another who shouts out, “Wait for me, Gayoon!”
“Okay…” He shrugs and looks around. Okay, so he’s still lost and he still isn’t sure where would his class be. Not to mention that the students are clearing the area, leaving him with a few stragglers. His eyes suddenly lands on a boy with dark hair. He’s walking by with his back slightly hunched and head down so Donghae can’t really see what the other looks like but he can tell he wears glasses; the thick rim is peaking out through his bangs.
Well, why not? Maybe he can help.
Without a moment longer, he trots toward the boy and calls out, “Hey! Excuse me!”
He’s surprised to see the other violently flinch before he attempts to ignore his call and hurries off. However, being one of the best runners known (in his opinion), Donghae is able to reach him without a problem.
As he does, he places a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “Excuse…” His voice falters when the other immediately jerks away from the contact, his hand falls slowly back to his side.
“W…What do you want?” The boy whispers, timidly turning around to face him, although he’s still staring down at the floor.
Donghae’s lips thin at the behavior, but seeing as the other refuses to face him and the fact that it's getting late, he lets it slide for the time being. “I’m lost. Can you show me where I can find this room?” He extends the paper toward him and points out his first class.
The boy slowly lifts his head up to inspect the paper, although...not enough for Donghae to catch a glimpse of his face. There’s a moment of silence between them; at first, Donghae’s a little worried because the other doesn’t speak at all. Not to mention…they are now the only ones in the hall. He’s certain that he’s late.
“It’s around the corner of this hall. First door to your right.”
Donghae blinks when he finally hears a response; but more than that, he’s suddenly aware at how soft-spoken the boy is.
“Oh…thank you.”
The boy merely inclines his head and rushes off, no doubt to the class he’s late for. Donghae rubs the back of his neck and begins to head to class. And as he enters into the room- looking quite sheepish as the teacher’s introduction to the class went interrupted-, he comes to realize that he forgot to ask for the boy’s name.
