I can't imagine a lot of things more difficult than watching someone you love live out of control and not being able to help or change things for them - I'm sorry you have such a sad firsthand experience with something like that.

That being funny thing gets us every time, doesn't it? I can completely understand how eventually the laughs aren't enough, though. Crazy article, and, how close to home it must have felt.
