Rose and Maia's apartment, Tuesday afternoon.

She'd been back maybe an hour, and she'd already checked everywhere she thought Maia might be. Rose missed her so much. She'd been gone about six months, but Maia wouldn't need to know that. As far as Maia was concerned, she'd only been gone overnight, and maybe that was for the best

Maia opened the door slowly, she didn't want to go in. See Rose's things, smell her perfume in the air. She had to, she had to face it. She should have never let her go, she should have went or begged her to stay. Leaning her head against the door, her back to the apartment Maia closed the door and stood facing it, eyes closed.

Rose heard the door and sensed Maia. She turned, running to the other woman, and pulled her into her arms, kissing her deeply. "God, I've missed you so much," she said breathlessly, after she'd pulled back.

Maia didn't have time to react to the kiss, she stayed stiff in Rose's arms. Part of her fought to kiss Rose back, tell her she loved her, she had missed her even if it was only a night but her anger won out. "Did you." Her voice was full of hurt as she fought back tears. She didn't want Rose to see them fall, didn't want her to know how badly she had hurt. She had left, without a backwards glance and now she was back like everything was fine. Maia's chest heaved as she fought to control her emotions.

Rose stepped back, gobsmacked. "What, you're angry with me? For what, for taking a trip with Jack? I asked you if you wanted to come with us, Maia. You were the one that said no." She paced slightly, not sure what the hell was going on. Everything she'd been through, and all she wanted to do was come home to the woman she loved, and now she's upset with her?

"Maia, it was only a couple hours. Don't do this," she said, blatantly lying. But, at the same time, not. Because to Maia? It was only a couple hours. Just, that Rose had helped the Doctor save the world, and then saved the Doctor. "Please, baby? Don't do this."
