I completely understand how you feel about computers. Rather than saving time as their proponents promise, they tend to monopolize and waste a great deal of it. As a kid, I expected that we'd be living in a Jetsons-like wonderland by now in which we'd have all the mundane matters of life taken care of for us by machines. I'm still waiting on the advent of that housekeeping robot. (Stupid visionaries and their empty promises...) Instead, we have home computers that seem to only work when they feel like it. On the other hand, I'm not sure what I'd do without mine, so I suppose I'll have to take the bad with the good of the electronic age.
Here's hoping for a smooth and successful transition to state-side living once again. In my opinion, they picked the best guy for the job.
