1. American Idol - This was a really good theme week, actually. I was a little leary about Elton John week bc (like Beatles week) they always choose the same damn songs to do & it's not even what I would consider the best stuff from his catalogue. (My personal faves come mostly from the last couple albums he did but they don't get any love D:) I was really happy with the performances tho!
- Jacob was breaking my fucking heart with 'Sorry Seems To be the Hardest Word'.
- Scotty is always love. I always know what to expect from him, in a really good way.
- James was too much fun. I love how you just know he's having the time of his life up there performing. Running all over the stage and audience. The flaming piano. Awesome.
- Paul I usually love, but I was totally underwhelmed by "Rocket Man". But then if Aiden couldn't blow me away with that song Paul didn't stand a chance tbh.
- Pia was flawless as usual. Once again making it obv there's no other girl even in this competition.
- Casey blew my face the fuck right off. For srs tho. I love him. (even when he rages on Nirvana ugh) He's been one of my faves from the start but just wow. I didn't even realise he had that kind of performance in him. It was pretty much perfect. Absolutely his best of the season so far. (Also pretty sure he put Paul in the bottom 3.)
- Lauren & Thia. These bitches. IF YOU'RE SINGING A SAD FUCKING SONG STOP SMILING LIKE IT'S A DAMN PAGEANT OMG. Thia's studios always sound like a 40yo women. Kinda freaks me out. And Lauren's fake ass I'm so cute act is getting really old. I do not buy it one bit okay.
- Naima. Ugh. Just... UGH.
- Stefano I just don't get. I really get the impression that there's more to him he's not giving us for some reason. Like.. he's not being the kind of musician/performer he would really like to be.. idk..
- Haley seems like a very nice person. But she sings like drunken karoake Barbie every week.
So not going to miss Naima or Thia LIKE AT ALL. They're the 2 I was most hoping we would get rid of this week tbh. I loved the boys' little band thing. That was great. Jfc Fantasia tho. Yikes. D=
Was just looking for something on ontd_ai and I'm shocked at how many people hate Casey, Paul, & Scotty and legit want Haley to win. Are we watching the same show? At least loathing for Lauren & her fake-ass-ness seems to be across the board.
Based on who's still here and the fact that I really like so many of the top 11 we might be having to get tix to the tour this year actually. I would really like to see some of them live & see what they can do away from the judges... So happy that this season has turned out way better than I expected. (I still don't like JLo tho. You can't make me.)
