Would you like Damage Protection today?

The time has come yet again for some semblance of a real update. And, for your viewing pleasure, I've put it all into bullet-point format.

- For those of you that are either A) Living under a rock, or B) Just don't speak with me that often, I am, in fact, engaged. I have been since February 14th of this year. Our wedding date is set to be sometime in June of 2008. If you'e lucky enough, you may even get an invite.

- My trusty Mazda was on the verge of a well-deserved death, so this past break was spent frantically trying to find a car. Thankfully, the search turned out to be successful; Maria and I purchased a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire, and damn if it isn't nice. As long as I don't think about the payments we'll be making for the next 5 years, that is.

- Jen and I recently got hired at the Movie Gallery here in Farmington. Apparently, as employees, we get 3 free movie rentals PER DAY. That's a fuckload of movies. And we also get to take home new releases before they're put out on the shelves. Oh, and we get paid too.

- During break I spent what turned out to be quite an interesting evening with Herr Ference. Aside from the supreme level of retardedness, that night and the following 24 hours or so further solidified my belief that he is, quite possibly, the absolute best of friends.

- Quite to the contrary, I've learned that there are those who I once may have considered dear to me that have presented themselves as the shallow, callous, vindictive, petty individuals that they truly are. You know who I'm talking about, and believe me, we're better off without them.

- Saw Silent Hill the day it came out. I recommend it highly, not as a "scary" movie, but as a creepy, psychological thriller; a description that, in itself, proves the accuracy with which Christopher Gans recreated the games for the silver screen. I want to see it again, especially after reading a very lengthy post on iMDb.com concerning the abundance of religious symbolism in the movie, it seems there is more than meets the eye. Oh, and expect a sequel; the end of this movie lends itself perfectly to the beginning of Silent Hill 2 (the game).

- As of June 1st, Maria and I will be moving into our very own apartment here in Farmington, which is exciting. However, there is a period of time, from May 12th (end of school) to June 1st, that we won't be able to move in yet. This means that we will have to live with roommates in the dorms in the meantime. Not impressed. Plus, I looked up the school photo of the guy I'm assigned to and he looks like a total tool bag. Should be interesting.

I suppose that covers most of it. This seems to be my modus operandi when it comes to LiveJournal; I tend to post meaningless memes and such for an extended period of time, then eventually post a synopsis of the interim period. With that being said, don't expect another one of these for a month or three.
