Strange meetings day
Yesterday I had a nice session at Lower East Skatepark in the evening. I saw a group of skaters, who was smoking. I still have 16 packages of cigarettes, that I brought from Ukraine. I offered them to buy cigarettes for 6$ a package(usually cost 12$ a package).
I started to speak with him and found out that he is Dutch. I know a few skaters from Dutch underground skateboard magazine Tagsters. These dudes came to Ukraine last year. I met them. They are really nice skaters that represent underground skateboarding and skate only streets.100% street skaters.
Ben, a skater I met at skatepark, appeared to be best friend of guys from Tagsters.
Also, I know one of the best skaters -Sewa Kroetkov. We were hanging out with him before and after Malloof Money cup.
It seems I have another Dutch friend:) Ben moved to USA three month ago but has two sponsors-independent and oj wheels.
After sweet session I went to Chambers street (A,C,E train). While I was waiting a train , I decided to buy a snack. A guy, who was selling snacks, asked me where am I from. I told him that I am from Ukraine. They guy told me that he studied in Moscow and was the best in his class. He was in Kyiv for the russian language competition. He won that competition. He spoke with me in Russian with very small accent. He told me that he received phd in medicine but when he came to USA he was asked to pass exams. He doesn't want to pass them because he passed them many years ago. It's so pity that this guy with such skills and abilities is selling snacks. I feel bad for him.
