thats a pretty damn good deal for a phone! I'm not sure what domestic messages are, but remember that you're probably going to want a texting plan too! And yeah, there always is an activation fee, and if you don't pay your bill and the phone gets shut off (like all those times my phone was shut off) you have to pay another activation fee to get it turned back on. Lame ass. But unless you're planning on talking a lot, or need a higher plan to get the discount on the phone, I'd probably just go with the 29.99 plan, which gives you 300 minutes, since you'll mostly probably be texting, and unlimited texting is 20. Unless thats where you got the 45 from! Just my advice!

the $45 is a $30 plan & $15 unlimited domestic messages, which i'm assuming are texts because it doesnt say anything about texts on the site.

Domestic Text, Instant, Picture & Video Messaging
Send and receive short e-mails, text and instant messages (up to 140 characters), and even picture and video messages using your T-Mobile phone!
