I'm definitely rooting for you. Your paying for that damage would be absolutely ridiculous; you did, indeed, have right of way.

She probably waited as long as she did because she just recently realised that she wouldn't have enough money to cover it herself.

Good luck!

Wow wasn't that before you even moved? That sucks...I wouldn't pay it.

Is that an option, though? I mean, couldn't they attempt to settle the claim without my input or knowledge? I don't know. I just want this done and over with.

It was her mistake. It disappoints me that another Christian woman would behave this way, but such is the way of life.

Stick by your statement and do not succumb to falsities. I'll be praying.

You probably aren't going to like this, but...

"You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two."

Christ's words, Matthew 5:38-41.

Now, I don't know the application in this case, though if it were me, I think I would. If I'm taking liberties with out just-beginning hopefully-to-be-frienship, forgive me. I'm not so good at subtlety and tact. :-/

Christ's love,

At the same time, I hope and pray that the other driver will realize that she is in the wrong and withdraw the claim. I think you're probably right in the legal sense, and that you don't deserve to have to pay the damages, but beyond that, I am not sure, and I've never really thought of the Christian life as one where we should get what we deserve (and thank God that we don't!) or fight for our "rights." Other's rights, absolutely.

For example (and this is just my personal conviction, no accusation or condemnation of you if you disagree), I would not ever fight to protect myself or preserve my own life, or harm another human being to do so. However, I would fight to the death or to the point of killing to defend someone who was under my protection or whom I loved and was unable to protect himself or herself. Of course, neither of these have yet been put to the test, so I can't truly honestly say that this is exactly what I would do, but it is what I aim to do, and what I believe is right for me.

hehe, why wouldn't I like that? Please feel free to let me know what you're thinking at any time. I don't pick up on subtle hints or tact very well, so you are more than welcome to respond with whatever you feel is necessary. Thank you for offering your view point, and thank you for the verse. I really, really appreciate it. God bless.
