My mom just called me at work....She said my dog Gus is in very bad shape. We are waiting for the vet to call us to let us know if his cancer came back. Over 2 years ago he had a 6 pound tumor removed (they had to take out his spleen) but they said the cancer was gone. Now he's not doing well at all and mom said it might be the cancer again. I

I know they think I am stupid because he is just a dog, but he is so much more than that to me. My heart is breaking. I love him so much.

Fuck them. You have spent years of your life with this dog, he is a valid friend, just like anyone else is. I am so sorry you have to go through this, I know your heart is breaking - mine would too.

I know how you feel about your dog -- because I feel the same way about mine. Gus is an important part of your family. Don't feel embarassed for getting upset and crying. I would be doing the same thing. I hope he is not hurting. *hugs*
