I think we're so used to hearing "I'm good" as a knee jerk reaction, that it would terrify certain people to hear something different- something along the lines of "My entire life is shit right now." Because, what can they say really? "Oh. That sucks," or "What happened?" When really you know they don't care to hear about what happened.
