Be yourself. I know if I take out my piercings or anything to do something I dont perform as well as I would being myself. Dont let some teacher tell you what to do. Like you said hairdressers are all about creatity. And your personal apperance has nothing to do with how well you can do hair. Thats just my opinion.

yeah dude i say be yourself. stick to who you are.. and if any of the judges try to say something to you about it.. tell them thats you.. and what you feel hairdressing is and why you feel like you shouldnt be marked down simply on how you look. plus if you did the dreads yourself wont they be impressed?
