Christine, first of all you are a good person, you're an awesome person! So don't say that...
So this test thing... I've never heard of it, yeah I must be slow... Can you get the rest of the credits you in night school? Don't you earn them faster there? I really don't know...
As for your mom, I don't know her that well so I'm not sure when to tell her. My chicken ass would probably wait to tell her, but then again it might be better to get it over with.
Obviously, I'm no help and I'm completely indecisive... But I love you :)
thanx. i CAN earn the credits, but beside the ones i get during nightschool, i'd have to take another semester at DA, then i'd have too many credits..so ya.
you should find out when the next test is. if you can take it before the year is out then you're set. you wouldn't even have to tell her. and since its legaly the same as a diploma theres not much she could do. the only problem is you would have to scrape up $75 for the test (i think thats the new fee). i'm sure you would pass. its not that hard and you're pretty fucking bright. if you're 18 you dont have to have them sign anything and if you're not you can always forge the signature. even then, there would still come a time where you have to tell her. probably around graduation day. but hopefully you will have already passed the test and moved out by then. if you can bullshit well enough you might be able to use it to your advantage. just be like "hey, i graduated just like everyone else. and early too. so fuck off." good luck
school ain't for everybody. just because you don't graduate doesn't mean that you're a bad person. the only reason i graduated is because a teacher did me a favor. your mom's just going to have to understand that. and i think that you should tell her now. before she starts inviting people to your graduation. also, i think it'll take some weight off of your shoulders. i thnk you should just take the GED test, it's easier and more common, so maybe your mom will take it better.
ged is not the same as a diploma. proficiency is. i have one. and its fucking sweet. i can say i graduated a year early. on job aplication i can check the box that says i graduated (legaly) when i didnt. just because the ged's more common dosent make it better. and i dont think its much easier either. theres all kinds of limitations to what you can do with it. and you're fucked if you had any plans for college. im 17 and in college now, thanks to that test. "your mom's just going to have to understand that"? she not exactly what i would call understanding. i'd sugest leather restraints if you are going to tell her. and one of those hannibal-hockey masks.
ged is not the same as a dimploma. -- i didn't say it was. just because the ged's more common doesn't make it better. -- i didn't say it did. and i don't think it's much easier either. theres all kinds of limitations to what you can do with it. i meant it was easier in an academic sense.
i thought that the fact that the GED's more common, that it would be easier for her mother to understand. she asked for my opinion & i gave it. also, you can get into college at any age, as long as you've passed your proficiency test, OR your GED.
christine: why would you not tell her and spend another semester at de anza? get the fuck out of there.
