Depends upon your base skin tone.

If you're olive skinned, they look okay.

If you're so white you're blue in the winter and various shades of burnt and flushed in the summer - carrots. lol

I had 2nd degree burns when I was 9 in Mexico and have never tanned without serious peeling or burns since.
Just thought I could at least half a chance at looking good this summer. :-(
