Show me how defenceless you really are {Part 7}

This first thing I remember seeing was the white ceiling of my room. I was confused and I felt stiff, when I turned my head all I could see were wires, I was scared so I closed my eyes again, I must of drifted off to sleep because when I opened them again there were people in the room looking at me.
My mom and brother were sitting on my left side and Kit was standing next to them, they all had a sympathetic look on their faces, I knew I was in for bad news but I couldn't bare to think about it, I was in too much pain and my right arm felt tingly. I just wanted to sleep again. Suddenly an old man in a white coat walked into the room, he was wearing a solomn expression and I knew I was right.
"You've been hurt badly, in what seems to have been a brutal attack, you will be feeling tired butyou need to understand that you have, indeed, been in a coma for 3 weeks, you recieved a serious blow to the head and we need to keep you here for a little while longer before you  go back home. You understand?"
I nodded and blinked, trying to force back the tears a waited for him to go on. But he didn't instead he just turned around and left. My mom just gave a sob and followed him out. Leaving Kit and my brother watching me.
"I was so scared" Kit finally whispered after about a 5 minute silence.
"I couldn't do anything, they held me back, I'm sorry" I couldn't hold back my tears, she hugged me and sat on the end of my bed holding my hand. I loved her and now I knew that she loved me. Tom, my brother just sat their in silence before loudly exclaiming, "You should have seen Kit, she was amazing, she told them that you were getting pciked up at 3 and they scarpered, then she stayed with you in the ambulance, she was so brave!"
Kit blushed and shook her head, "Tom was riding past with his friends just as the ambulance pulled up, we were all scared for you life" It didn't take her long to finish off the story and I just sat there and listened, it all seemed so fake, you only expected things like this to happen to other people, not yourself.
