IC Information
Character: Toboe
Canon: Wolf's Rain
Point in canon: I will be taking Toboe after Darcia kills him.
Age: 15
Personality: Toboe is the youngest of his pack and due to a sheltered life and inexperience is innocent and naive. The wolves and humans hate eachother but Toboe will not take a side. He takes more of a peacekeeper role and tries to befriend humans despite their hatred for him. Toboe is considered the 'runt' of his pack and seems to be at a disadvantage with his small size and sheltered past. Actually though, he would brave anything for his friends. No matter how much something terrifies him, he would quite literally, take a bullet to protect someone he cares about.
Toboe is kind and sweet. He does not like to see pain or harm inflicted on anyone and he certainly hates seeing anyone killed or dying. If he sees someone sad or upset he will try to comfort them or cheer them up. If someone is hurt he will do all he can to help. As far as killing goes he would never do it, at least not intentionally. He is sensitive to seeing anything dying, he will usually cry and howl in mourning. He naively wants everything to exist in peace and harmony, although his world is far from it.
Toboe isn't a perfect angel all the time. He won't become angry if you tease him but he will get depressed easily. Among his other downsides is he tends to be very nosy. This primarily because he is still a kid and has wolf instincts that includes incredible hearing. Although he is typically sweet and lovable, he can become whiney and be a brat if you try to push his buttons. He will be vocal about situations he doesn't like and will complain. He does have a little experience being a lonely wolf rummaging for scraps to eat so he is adaptable to situations.
History: His life takes place in a world that is nearing apocolypse. It is bleak and desolate, with most people living in poverty. The legend is that when the world comes to an end, a paradise will open, but only wolves will be able to find it. This is one reason that wolves symbolize death to humans and were considered a bad omen. Humans began to kill the wolves driving them to near extinction. The wolves, to protect themselves, learned to shape shift into humans over time but they still do not trust humans.
Toboe was found as a puppy by an old women whom he refers to as 'grandma.' She gave him a sheltered life safe from the sad truths of their world. Along with a loving home, She also gave him four silver bangles he wears on his right arm. He grew up as a pet until one day the old lady died, leaving Toboe all alone with absolutely nothing. He became a lonely street mutt scrounging for scraps of food, with no knowledge of street smarts.
Living on the streets, even the crows were tougher than Toboe for food, so he was near starving. One day a girl saw Toboe getting beaten up by the crows. She had some groceries and offered him some sausage. She petted him and was gentle with him. For Toboe it was love at first sight. Soon after this he met Tsume, another wolf who lead a gang of theives that steals food. Tsume was a bit of a hard-ass who tried to push Toboe away, but still came to his rescue when the senile old man Quent (a man seeking revenge on wolves) tried to shoot Toboe. Toboe met up with Leara, the girl who gave him the food, again. He introduced himself and told her that was his dog she gave the food to.
From then on Toboe became friends with Leara. Leara let out her pet bird one day, and Toboe wanted to play with it. He turned into his wolf form and caught the bird with his teeth, accidentally killing the bird. He brought it back to Leara, thinking the bird was only sleeping. Leara looked horrified, Toboe insisted he was only playing with it, but he realized the bird was dead. He turned into his wolf form in front of her and howled to mourn the bird, (which is symbolic because Toboe's name means Howling.) Tsume heard Toboe's cries from far away and dashed over there and grabbed Toboe by the scruff of his neck, and whisked him away before he made a bigger scene. Leara hated Toboe and feared him from then on.
Toboe joins up with the other wolves Tsume, Kiba, and Hige. They become a pack and they leave Freeze city in search of Cheza the lunar flower maiden, and paradise. This is where Toboe's journey to paradise begins. It's a long struggle without sufficient food, traveling a vast desolate wasteland, in search of a paradise that they don't know for certain exists, they just trust in Kiba to lead them there. Although Toboe is called 'runt' or 'brat' by Tsume, Toboe is happy to travel with his friends and does his best to keep up.
Unfortunately Toboe's journey ends before making it to paradise. When everything becomes a race to reach paradise before Darcia, Toboe rides in the back of a van with Quent who has suffered a terrible head injury, and Blue, Quent's dog who is also part wolf. Blue catches Toboe curiously touching Quent's leg. Toboe admits he was touching him just a little and then describes a time previously of when Quent was going unconcious in the mountain pass how he had grabbed Toboe, mistaking him for Blue, and held him closely. Toboe tells Blue he felt she was really lucky to have someone who loves her so much. Blue then tells Toboe that if anything happens to her to take care of her old man.
Quent soon wakes up and realizes that he is traveling with the wolves he hates so much. He gets up and walks away from them, even rejecting Blue and says he would rather be dead than go to paradise with the wolves. Toboe is told to go after him. Once he catches up, the old man insists that he will not go back with blue, and that he is looking for a place to die alone. Darcia shows up and Toboe immediately takes a deffensive stance. Darcia and Quent raise their guns. A gunshot is heard. Toboe falls to the ground dead, he had jumped in the way to save the old man, keeping his promise to Blue. Darcia then shoots Quent as well. Quent takes Toboe into his arms and dies soon after.
Abilities: Toboe can shapeshift between being human or a wolf and he incredible hearing.
Items brought along: Nothing but the four silver bangles on his wrist.
Stigma: Loneliness and the sorrow he feels that his owner died. Also the rejection from all the humans that have denied him.

Regular Post: Uhn....Where am I?
[He notices the surrounding bus station.]
I guess I didn't make it to paradise after all. I don't smell Tsume or the others...I guess I'm alone again.
Log Post: The brown wolf opened his golden eyes. He sat up on the bench, taking the smells and sounds, trying to get feel for this strange territory around him. "This place looks nicer than Freeze City, but it's not paradise." He was thinking out loud. He felt glum once he realized the rest of his pack wasn't here. Tsume wouldn't just leave him, he felt so worried something might have happened to him. He noticed the bag next to him and sniffed it to check it out first. He reached a paw to try and open it, instead accidently knocking it off the bench, and the contents of the bag spilled out.
He turned into his human form because thumbs are useful when grabbing things. He was a small boy, with shoulder length brown hair and his eyes were still golden. He picked up all the items quickly. He knew he should get going, he couldn't just stay at the bus station all day, but he felt nervous going into town. This time there would be no Tsume to protect him. He was alone again. He then noticed the 200 dollars that fell out of his bag. He couldn't believe it, he had never owned any money before. "I could buy so much food with this!" He said excitedly. He tucked it safely into bag. At least knowing he had more to start with here than in Freeze City was a little comforting.
He tried to think back to where he was before this. He was with the old man, and Darcia came. He could remember the sound of a gunshot, before everything went dark. He remembered Quents arms around him. He could remember faintly hearing Tsume's voice he but he couldn't make out the words. Now he woke up here? In a bus station, no where near the opening to paradise. He then caught a smell that was quite rancid, a smell that gave him a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomache. Something wasn't right about this place. Being a wolf gave him a sort of sixth sense about these things and something about this place made him uneasy.
