 Title: A Little Love
Character (s): Xion
Genre: General
Rating: PG/T
Summary: There was always something missing, and it’s what kept them together.

The three of us would always be sitting on the lip of Train station’s veranda. Ice cream was a must, most of the time. I’m told it was originally Axel’s idea, and that he brought Roxas up there once after their first mission together. Later on they invited me, and we would spend all our free time there overlooking Twilight Town. Even after Axel graduated he’d join us there after work- he never went to college. There was something about the three of us that drew us together- the sinking feeling in every single moment of every single day that something was missing. We were the only ones in the entire town who felt like that, and the feeling kept us together.
Then I moved.
I couldn’t bring myself to hate Traverse Town, even though it was so far away from Twilight Town, and they didn’t know what sea-salt ice cream was. In fact, I couldn’t even bring myself to resent my father for transferring. We wrote, though. Axel, Roxas and I. They would couple their letters to save on postage, and I would write back with an eager hand. We wrote nearly every week about anything that was going on, and whatever should be going on. Every time we would send our wishes of how much we wanted to be back together. However, the letters eventually slowed. Axel finally went to college, Roxas graduated and attended a prestigious University at the urging of a cousin who taught there, and I found myself waiting tables at Traverse Café to start saving for my own college exploits.
Sea-salt ice cream became caramel cappuccinos, Twilight Station was replaced with the Gizmo shop, and Axel and Roxas weren’t there.
Still, I couldn’t bring myself to hate Traverse Town.
After college I found work in Port Royal, which wasn’t even in the same country as Twilight Town. I would have started to hate it, but I really didn’t get the chance.
He was tall, fair, and handsome with blond hair perfectly kept. His name was Luxord. The first time we met I couldn’t bring myself to look away. There was something about the way he carried himself that drew me to him. He was my boss, and we both knew it was a bad mix. We had sex, anyway- I’ll admit to that. It was amazing. The best I’d had in my life. Afterwards he confessed that while at first he was just looking for a quick lay he didn’t think that would be enough for him.
We dated.
Six months later he proposed.
The trip to Traverse Town for him to meet my folks three months later was an uneventful one, and there we sent out invitations to the wedding. It would be held in Twilight Town, we decided, before the Station steps. I had pushed for this.
Invitations were sent out, and the wedding would be in June.
Axel and Roxas made it. The moment I saw them was the moment everything really seemed to fall into place. Everything was perfect.
Walking down the aisle, I couldn’t bring myself to look away from Luxord, at it occurred to me that I hadn’t been feeling that empty part of me in a while. Afterwards, I looked towards my old friends. They were holding hands, but what really drew my attention was how the shadows that had always adorned their faces- the distinct lack of something in their lives- were gone. It was what had held us together before, but seeing them without that pain seemed to cement our friendship even further- I could tell from the look in our eyes.
Maybe it just took a little love.

Yeah- Xion x Luxord- it’s been a pairing that I’ve loved ever since I read a story way back when where Xion thought Luxord was really sexy. I’ve always wanted to write this pairing. This was written in about 20 minutes, just so you know.
