Aww...This was so completely lovely. I'm in a long distance relationship myself. This was such a great encouragement. It made me smile. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful fic!

I'm glad you feel that way =) I've moved across the world a few times and the distance is hard to deal with when it comes to family and friends, much less a significant other. All the best on your relationship!

This is everything I want in a gift and more. Thank you for turning my prompt into such a lovely fic. I can feel them--their love and needs and hope, the way they cherished their 'us' moments, the way they tried so hard to make their relationship work, the way how both Alfred and Arthur were both romantics in their own way, the way they supported each other and kept falling in love in the process.

Darling, this is precious. I love this fic, I love our boys in this fic, and I love you for writing this.

Have a wonderful holiday ^___^

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I just couldn't resist the topic, and the long distance factor is one of the things that I feel really enhances the boys' relationship. It's takes lots of work, but I think it'll only make them stronger. A love undiminished by adversity, after all!

They really are romantics in their own ways, haha.

Thank you for the great prompt and the lovely comment ♥ Merry Christmas!

Oh boy, you have no idea how happy your entire comment makes me. Because yes, I was totally referencing Between the Lines, especially with the line about Arthur walking away once before. Between the Lines is all about the different modes of communication, and long-distance relationships involve lots of correspondence on both sides, and the two fics meshed into the same timeline in my head -- I pretty much just put in those details as Easter eggs for myself and eee I'm so happy someone else picked up on that ♥

Having fought long and hard to finally get where they are, I think they'll definitely put 110% into the relationship. And since I was operating in the Between the Lines timeline -- well, they promised to do their best by each other, and this fic is all about that, even with all the rough edges and the fights. I've got a major soft spot for long-distance relationships, and they're both romantics in their own way -- but Arthur would definitely use poetry. Yes. I've wanted to write that part of him for while ( ... )

Really nice, and so many lovely moments you've given them! You did a great job keeping both their human and nation selves intact, and I like your characterizations, where they're learning to say things but still not prepared to go the distance with their words. And I love, love the visual of Alfred looking at Arthur's handwriting and comparing it to how it'd looked in the past -- I love those ties to their long history.

I wanted to give them as many moments together as I could, considering how many challenges a long distance relationship can present together added with the complications of being nations and their histories together. I really couldn't get away from their "nation-hood" - it defines so much of who they are, but this fic is very much about Arthur and Alfred when they don't have to actively be the nations, when histories are personal experiences and memories for them and they can let their actions speak for themselves. I really wanted to show that, and I'm glad that came through for you.

Thank you for your very lovely comment ♥!
