Sunday Breakfast, SF Con

Jan 19, 2011 23:55

I apologize for the delay in putting this up. I'm having some technical difficulties in uploading my stuff. First of, I recorded about 16 minutes of video from the moment the boys walked into the room. Problem is the file is so large that I had to archive them in three separate RAR files in order for me to hang them up on a server.

hi thank you so much for sharing your videos of the breakfast part I haven't seen any videos about the breakfast or comments, so thank you.
Can I ask you some questions? I download the 3 parts from megauplad; The 3rd part is like the complete video?
how long is the breakfast? 16 minutes?

Its just that the 3rd part looks like the 1st and 2nd part together

thanks again for sharing your videos :)

No, the 3 parts together makes the compression (archive) file in RAR format where the actual video file (MP4) is stored.

In order to play the video, you need to extract the MP4 file from the RAR files first. These RAR files are self linked, which means all you need to do is start extracting from the first file, when that's done, your extraction tool will automatically seek out part 2 and part 3. If you are using Windows machine, you can download WinRAR application for extraction, if you are using Mac OS, it should already come with StuffIf which can handle RAR files in the same way as ZIP files.

ok thank you. I didn't want to bother you, its just that I didn't know if the breakfast video length was 16 minutes or I was missing something, and I think I'm really bad for the technology :) hehe.
And thank you again, I love the breakfast parts of the conventions, you are really kind.

No problem. Yes, the video is roughly 16 minutes long, and it's best viewed after you extract the MP4 video file from the RAR archive files.

And you are welcome.

Thank you very very much for recording and sharing this!! I've been looking desperately for vids of the J2 Breakfast and I couldn't find any! (not even in youtube). So you've totally made my day, specially since it's such good quality and I can see them perfectly in spite of the huge windows!!

By the way, can I put a link to this post in the Supernatural Wiki? Since there isn't any single vid for the breakfast I'm sure a lot of people would love to see this one!

Again, thanks for your generosity and effort!!

You are very welcome my dear. Glad you enjoyed. :D

Go ahead link it if you want, and thank you! But if you don't mind, would you please add a note next to the link that the download files are NOT video itself but a self-linked compressed archive file of the video? I've got a lot of comments asking why can't they play the part 2 or 3 files in their video player. So a reminder will be much appreciated.

Somebody beat me to it and already put the link in the Supernatural Wiki! But I added the warning about the three parts self-linked compressed file. Hopefully this will take some people off your back!

For future uploads I would advise you to divide the file with HJsplit or Hacha. People would have to use the same program to put it back together and they wouln't ask you so much!

Thanks again for the wonderful vid!!

Thank you so much for letting me know and help me out.

I'm not familiar with HJsplit and Hacha. I think I may have used Hacha awhile back to put the files back together, but since then I have switched computer.

I often download episodes that are broken into RAR parts, so I kinda assumed people are familiar with RAR files. *facepalm*

I will definitely looking into your suggestions. Thanks!

Hi there. Thank you so much for making these videos available for those of us who could not be there and sorry to be a pain...But I just downloaded parts 2 and 3 (after your re-uploads) from Megaupload and could not play them. I would think I did not have the right software except that I was able to play part 1 - are they all the same format? With the Mediafire site says the files are temporarily unavailable because of the account resources. Am I doing something wrong? Really hope I can access all 3 parts :)

Apologies - scratch that last comment! Sorry. Just noticed that part 1 which I can watch is 16 min which I think is the entirety of the video? So I do not appear to need part 2 and 3 - or they are playing automatically even though they said that they could not be extracted. Tis all beyong my grasp of technology!!!

OK. I have one last question! The video keeps getting stuck and is slightly out of sync with the audio - I am playing it in QuickTime. Am I doing anything wrong? Sorry to bother you again :(

Okay, the three files I have up for downloading are NOT video files themselves. They are self-linked archive (or compressed, a la ZIP) files of the video file (MP4). The following is the instruction I have given in another comment:

...the 3 parts together makes the compression (archive) file in RAR format where the actual video file (MP4) is stored.

In order to play the video, you need to extract the MP4 file from the RAR files first. These RAR files are self linked, which means all you need to do is start extracting from the first file, when that's done, your extraction tool will automatically seek out part 2 and part 3. If you are using Windows machine, you can download WinRAR application for extraction, if you are using Mac OS, it should already come with StuffIt which can handle RAR files in the same way as ZIP files.

When the extraction is complete, you should see a SFConBreakfast.MP4 file created, and you can then watch that in your QuickTime.

Hope this helps, and you are welcome.
