girly, why is it i don't get notices of your posts? do you first post privately before opening to your flist?

Seriously? *facepalm*

Yes, I did first post it privately and made it public after I edited out the mistakes I (often) made. I didn't realize this preclude the entry showing up on Friends pages. Now you just solved a mystery for me. Some of my RL flist members have been teasing me for not checking their journal entries, and I always said: "But I never saw them in the first place!" Come to think of it, I think they all have the habit of doing what I do too.

it'll show up on your friends' pages but they won't get email (or whatever) notifications that you'd posted. i used to make the same mistake and i had a friend do all kinds of tests too, lol.
for long posts or stuff i don't want to lose accidentally, i now make them private and then copy/paste when ready to post to friends.

Thanks for the rec! I know this writer writes good fics but since a lot of them are slash I didn't get the chance to read her work. But this one is really beautiful, it gave me the urge to translate into Chinese which I haven't done for ages >.

You are welcome sweetie. Yeah, she's a very famous writer in the fandom, and I love her stuff. A master story teller she is in my opinion. She isn't the author who got me leaping through the wincest "rabbit hole", but she's one of the authors who made me firmly entrenched on that side. ;p

But this work is beautiful indeed. What a great idea to translate it into Chinese! <3
