PCA Afterwards...

Jan 12, 2012 14:01

It's a day after People's Choice Award 2012 came to a conclusion. I'm still much infuriated at PCA organizer and show runner's obvious snub at Supernatural, winner of both Favorite Network TV Drama and Favorite Scifi/Fantasy last night. So I went on their 2012 PCA Best Moments Best Dressed blog to give them a piece of my mind. This is what I ( Read more... )

Good one Xwacky.

SPN wins another award, and the nets won't show it.

I'm disgusted.

Disgusted indeed! I think it's safe to say that's how everyone of us in the SPN fandom feels right now. We were robbed, the cast and crew were robbed.

The logical part of me is reminding myself that award shows are silly, that I shouldn't pay much heed to it. Yet another part of me wish to see SPN gets acknowledged publicly on the award circuit. The show certainly worth the merit, its actors are more than talented than so many of the actors strolling down that red carpet, up on that stage.

I will not stop voting for SPN. If it's up for nomination(s) again, I still will vote my heart out for it and hopefully its actor(s) competing for the Best Actor category. I want the boys and the show to win big again next year. Eat that PCA and CBS. It would be hilarious for an award show miss announcing its Best Drama and Best Actor awards during its so called ceremony.

Yes I know Im very upset too

well I really don't understand what happened!

clearly is not a genre thing, because the cast of Vampire diaries have been in the PCA's a few times and they were there yesterday, and is not that they are ignoring CW, like I said Vampire diaries were there and besides CBS own 50% of CW,

so I don't understand what happened, Can someone explain me how they totally ignored best TV drama category?

I think everyone of us in the fandom are upset. It's hard to say what happened for sure, but my money is on the bet that CBS and PCA got upset CBS's mainstream legal drama "The Good Wife" got beaten by this little genre show called "Supernatural".

I've had a low regard for CBS's President and CEO Les Moonves since 2004 when he unceremoniously cancelled my then favorite show "The Guardian" because the show's writer/creator David Hollander signed contract with Sony TV instead of renewing his contract with CBS. IMO, Moonves is an egotistical control freak. I wouldn't put it past him and his company for petty reactions to the winner who beat their show(s).

I also would not call "Vampire Diaries" a genre show. IMO, despite the show features supernatural entities and whatnot, it's riding the bandwagon of the vampire romance fad a la "Twilight" saga.

Yes, VD is on CW along with SPN. But we all know how not all CW shows are treated equally by the network.

RIGHT! i'm FURIOUS -- they picked the wrong fandom to mess with. how dare they mistreat the show and everyone associated with it, not to mention fandom - afterall, WHO THE HECK do they think tune in to their crappy awards show anyway?

love your response, esp the last sentence. i gave them the what-for on their FB page and am in the process of leaving feedback to CBS. i also left a comment in EW's "best and worst" moments blog:

IKR?! What they did is so shockingly childish and petty. PCA is dead to me. However I won't stop voting for our show. I hope the show and the boys are up for nominations again next year. I especially want to see Jensen nab the "Favorite Actor" award. I suspect they would continue to ignore our show and the boys, as it's evidently the second time PCA ignored SPN's win. But it would be hilarious to see another major award category disappearing from PCA's award ceremony.

I left my opinion on their FB page too last night. It looks like within 24 hours there are 1900+ comments on their "THANK YOU to all the fans" thread, 99% of them complaining about PCA & CBS's deplorable treatment of Supernatural. Judging by some of the latest comments, it maybe that PCA started deleting some comments today. Just how low can these people go?

Thanks for the link above. Yeah, I went and pasted my opinion over there too.

i never liked the PCAs (thought they were a joke) but when SPN had a stake in it, i could not ignore them then. but yeah, otherwise, that's probably one of the lamest awards shows (i don't watch any, really); the little i saw/heard of last night's made me embarrassed that we're reduced to practically groveling them just to garner exposure for the show and boys that they so seriously deserve and shamefully lack. but watch out - next year (god willing -- i hope we get season eight), fandom will be exponentially that much more determined to see the boys up there, as they rightfully should, collecting their awards for every category that we can get them to remotely fit.

yay, kudos to you for standing up for what is right. and ITA, i've been monitoring the FB site and their comments have not exceeded 2,000 -- which means they must be deleting some.

I know what you mean. I don't even bother to watch Award shows except to see who's wearing what on the red carpet. Yeah, I have a weakness for fineries ( ... )

Thanks hon. PCA disgraced itself big time by neglecting to even mention its big winner during the actual award. What a joke of a ceremony that was last night!
