I bet you wouldn't guess
That underneath this dress
There's a girl who's weathered and worn.

I bet you didn't know
There's a girl who's empty and cold
When all the artists have left and gone home.

And I bet you wouldn't guess
That it's not all make-up and gold-
When those heels come off my feet they feel so tired and old.

I can't hide anymore,

I love this.

I don't think it sucks, and in my opinion, rough writing is often the most expressive.
