Does anyone know about importing cell phones and activating them in the U.S

I think you should just ask your store first before you do anything. They might be able to give you a new SIM card, but I'm not sure. When I got the phone before the one I have now, I had to get a new card, but I've had the same number since I've had a cell phone.

So, I guess just ask them~
