First days at Danvik FHS

New school, new classes, new people, new teachers, new everything. But it's great so far.

I got myself an Internet-cable-thingie today, so let's first cheer for that. Good. Yesterday was my first day on Danvik, a folk high school in Drammen, Norway (which is the country I live in, for those who didn't know, so I didn't move that far. However, it's a 6-7 hours long drive from home, and I've never lived away from home before. Back home, I also lived in the middle of no-where, so it was rather antisocial, when I wasn't at school. But now, I live in a dorm, with a roommate, and people all around all the time. It is quite the difference.

My roommate is really nice, though, and the classmates I've gotten to know so far, as well. So I'm really looking forward to next week, when the classes will start for real.

Oh, I'm taking acting classes. So this is kind of the year for me to get to do acting, and in a way a break from all the drawing and painting (although I will still draw a lot, of course). I plan to move to Brighton in southern England to study illustration next year, and I took a three-year art-course before now.

I've dreamt about being an actress for quite a while, and this is my chance to try this out for real. I still want to become an illustrator, but I want to have done this, too, so that if I ever get the chance to do acting in some way or other, I know how to. It's going to be a really social year as well, and everyone I ever talked with who has gone to a folk high school say it's something they never regretted.

So I'm looking forward to it. And I bring pictures of my room, because it's cool like that.

My side of the room:

The shelves above my desk. Including boxes for coffee and tea, photos of friends (which I will put of more of, when I get them), manga and books:

school, real life, danvik
