Japan Trip 2009

So, here it is, the journal entry of what we did.  So you can hear about the Shenanigans.  I'm gonna stop at the end of Kyoto, cos I fucking tired tonight, will continue tomorrow with Hiroshima!

Tokyo 5/26
The plane ride was ok, actually it wasn't bad at all.  I just slept and ate.  I'm so angry.  I left my cell phone in the car with Ian, so I couldn't call him in Chicago. =(  All'sI want  is to find an internet cafe cafe and message him.  I miss him sooo much.  It took everything in me to tear myself away from him.  I'm gonna miss him with everything inside of me.  Anyway, the hotel has an internet cafe, so I'm gonna use tht int he AM to message him.  He's probably out right now.  I dunno....  Tokyo is beautiful.  It's so cool.  Our hotel is down the street from Tokyo Tower.  Des and I wanna walk there tomorrow.  My mind can't get off Ian.
Tokyo 5/27
I woke up at 7am and went to the internet cafe.  It was sooo amazing to get online.  I had a messgae from Ian <3.  This seperation is gonna suck so hard.  Went to Asakusa today, very cool old old buddhist temple there.  Then we went to Harajuku, which was intense.  Unfortunatly, I don't feel like I got to see/experience it as much as possible.  A bit later I wandered off with Alyssa and Ted and we went to Yoyogi park.  It was mad cool.  The park is pretty and they were having a free outdoor concert and I got AMAZING Takoyaki.  After that we hit the train line for Shibuya.  We didn't see too much of it, but it was cool.  Tonight I bought a phone card and spent the most amazing 15 minutes on the phone with Ian.  It ended too abruptly for my taste.  I miss him desperately.  =(  I went back to me room, drank beer and cried at Desiree for a bit.  Then I was like, "Wanna walk to Tokyo Tower" and she was all "Ok".  So we did, at like midnight.  It was a looong walk, but worth it, it was kinda liberating to just walk everything out and talk and have fun.  Some Japanese dude stopped and asked us directions at one point I was like uhhh, I dunno and he left.  xD.  Oh I forgot to mention the shrine where Meiji's soul is held.  It was an amazing shrine and the gardens were lovely.  I bought a charm and left a prayer placard.
Tokyo 5/28
It's actually the 29th, was too tired to write yesterday.  We went to the imperial palace and the yasakuni shrine.  Then we went to Odaiba.  It's a very modernized city.  Tokyo Bay was gorgeous.  Tthe weather was total shit, though.  Raining, cloudy, cold.  Ended up just going home and crying.  I've never felt this alone.
TRAVEL 5/29
So yesterday technically, or something like that, Ian left for Riley.  I miss him more than anything.  We've been on a Shikansen for close to 3 hrs now going from Tokyo to Kanazawa.  The trains are comfy at least.  Although, I do wanna kill this one kid on the trip, SOFA KING WE TODD DID.  Get my drift?
TRAVEL 5/31
Today we are leaving Kanazawa on a shikansen for Kyoto.  Kanazawa was pretty but really boring.  We went to the samurai and geisha districts, including Gion.  The houses were very, very cool.  I loved the architecture.  We also went to the daimyo castle and this amazingly beautiful garden.  At the caslte we saw a really cool taiko drum demonstration, very, very cool.  I'm excited for Kyoto, get to see Chelsea and Asuka!  I still feel super lonely.  I miss him, what's new.  Heh...=/
Kyoto Not sure of the day....
It might be Monday, I dunno.  Today was so far the best day.  Asuka came with us to the temples, we went to this giant Zen garden, wasn;t too zan-y considering all the construction.  I made a joke of "the garden is telling me to bang alot".  Haha.  Then we went to Kinkakuji, giant gold plated castle.  Fucking cool.  Then we went to Tokugawa castle.  It had the cool nightingale floors.  After that we went  to Asuka's hometown.  It was Spargo, Des, and me.  It was amazing.  Her parents made us tons of good food, we joked around and Spargo got wasted on Shochu.  We laughed and drank and made the last train.  It was so much fun.  Asuka and her family rock!
Kyoto 6/3
SO Today was even cooler, or well yesterday, yeah, yesterday.  Chelsea met us with us at Nara.  OMG I missed that girl. Nara was very cool.  It has the largest wooden structure in the world and the largest Buddha.  I went through this tiny hole thing for luck and freaked out and mades a fool of muhself and then actually got myself through it.  What can I say, I thought I was gonna get stuck and had panics.  That night we went to Osaka with Chelsea and some of her friends.  It was Ray, Andy, Ryan , and I and Chelsea's friends Alex, Masayo, and Miho(I think? I forgot!)  Osaka is BY FAR my fave place in Japan!  The city is absolutely amazing.  It's grungy and raw and that's what I looove.  We went to shinsaibashi and ate and sat by the river and then went to amemura and sat at Triangle Park, yes, the triangle park and drank.  Ray and the guys and everyone else left early, but I stayed with Chelsea.  We went back to shinsaibashi and harrassed hosts.  Ahha.  We left Shinsaibashi with just enough time to catch the last trains.  I had to run through umeda station to find osaka station and then the platform to kyoto.  Holy crap, it was fun.  Had to ask this one guy for directions to osaka eki and he cringed, I guess he just got beat up, he was all black and blue.  Got to my train on time, annnnd it was 3 mins late.  Wtf.  Then the train came and Ifell asleep on it and just happened to wake up in Kyoto!  Perfect timing.  I was sooo tired.  Oh and in amemura there was this drunk guy on acid screaming, I had a video, but it disappeared. =(
