SORRY! I got swept up in other things and forgot to finish the Nihon blog. Oooops. Soooo, here's the trip after we went to Hiroshima!
Hiroshima 6/4
So, our hotel in Hiroshima, ok, it isn't a hotel, it's a youth hostel. It's not bad. The shower sucks though, I have to spend like 5 mins every shower getting it so the shower head doesn't move and hit the wall and make a damn mess. We've got the best room though. We being Desiree and I, we made the great room swap when we got here. Bryant had a single, so Alyssa stayed with him, Kat went to Stacy's room and Desiree came to mine. Everyone got the best possible roommates for the rest of the trip. ^^. Anyway, we have the BEST room. I think Andy and Ted have the other awesome room at the other end of the hall. In our room, where a wall would normally be is an AWESOME huge window that looks out over the city. Fucking boss. The beds are comfy, our window opens cool, OH and the rooms are smoking, but we all still go outside, cos we are so trained, haha. Hiroshima is nice. I kinda wish we came here first, though. There are tons of cheap shops and cool shit, plus it'd be awesome if we got all this depressing crap out of the way first. BUT, one awesome thing is we are gonna be here during to Tokasan Matsuri, a big summer festival, woohoo. I finally got online last night, Ian hasn't been on yet. Pooey. I misses him =( If I didn't think it would cost him up the ass I would call him again.

Day 2... Yesterday's events were sad, interesting, and booooring. The museum and park were very cool, very sad and I honestly wish everyone could make trips to them, cos they would be super enlightening. As a group we all have learned extensively about the bombings, but no amount of studying and looking at pictures can prepare you for the way it feels when you are actually there. We then went to UNITAR and got talked at by this guy with an awesome accent. He was mad funny. After that we had a lecture and it was sooooooooooooo boring. Ugh. Luckily, after that was the end of the day. We went out to this amazing Tex Mex place called Otis's. The food was amazing but the proportions were too tiny for our large American stomachs, xD. We then started filtering the alcohol in and made our way to Karaoke. Oh the insanity that ensued. There were shirts off, people dancing on tables, spilled drinks, and crazy loud renditions of some pretty hilarious songs. Everyone was up, everyone was dancing, everyone was singing, almost everyone was drunk or kinda drunk. Fucking awesome. The walk back was fun, too. Needless to say, weeee won't be going back to that joint. ^^;;

Sitting in possibly the most boring lecture of my life. It's about radiation effects but ugggh, so boring. We had another day of walking around looking at sites, another day of sad museums. After this lecture a large mass of the group are going to a Karp game (baseball), I was gonna go but the damned boring lecture actually drained me of all want to go out. @__@. I'm just gonna stay in and maybe go out to the festival with Jen and Tiff. Yeah, that sounds like a good night. I can't wait to go home and be a fuckin beach bum!!!

SO, last night we went to the festival which was awesome amazing! I can't wait to go back tonight! Sooo much fun, soooo many people, soooo much noise and music and lights, and wow. We got rained on. And when I say rained on, I mean we got POURED on. It started raining while we were at the festival and we were too busy watching the dancers to care, then it strated raining HARDER. We had to walk allll the way back to the hotel in downpour. We got back soo wet, we couldn't have gotten wetter if we jumped in a pool, for reals. But mad fun. Today is the last day of peace stuff, we are meeting with a group of Japanese college students to talk about
article 9 and
nuclear proliferation. Should be interesting to share views and opinions. Tomorrow is our last full day in Japan. We are going to Miyajima, yay more deer!!!!

On the shikansen on our way to the train station. I'm so excited to go home. The experiences I had here were amazing. Let's start back on Saturday. We had the sit down with the students. It was pretty profound, we actually vastly feel the same and everyone agrees that there should be no nuclear warfare and more countries should adopt the article 9 into their constitutions. After the session Ray and I broke off from the group and hung out with this girl Marie, she was sooo nice! She walked us around the festival and we chattered about our lives. She had to go to work and we went back to the hotel cos we had to get ready to go out with a group of students to the festival later that night. I got ready, walked over to the festival to our waiting point and that's when everyone showed up. There were 3 Japanese students with us (Saori, Hiroma, Akane) and then it was all of us minus Jen, Tiff, Desiree, annnnd....the sucky people. I think everyone was with us. Anyway. We wondered the festival and got wasted. It was amazing. We were loud, we were retarded, we got Hiroma so so drunk, haha. They were very cool. Then we had another fuuun walk home. I got back in and checked facebook and saw Ian commented. At that point I wondered the halls a drunken sniveling mess trying to find Desiree cos I wanted to go to bed. =( LOL, what a freak. The next day we went to Miyajima, which was gorgeous. We took the ropeway up to the top of Mt. Misen and then I walked down it with Alyssa and Bryant. It was an awesome walk. Then I got swarmed by deeerrrs! TOTALLY made up for Nara. The morning was terrible cos I was hung over, but the afternoon rocked. That night we all went out to the final dinner at this really nice restaurant. The conversation was fun, the food was amazing, and I ate horse. Haha. It was an amazing end to a great trip. Now, we are on our way to the airport to go home.
In Shin Osaka Station
Our train to Kansai airport has been delayed due to to someone jumping on the tracks. They need to...clean up.
PS. Our train just left the station. Ryan isn't on the train. Shenanigans ensue even to the plane. LOL.
