At the pulsate of the phone, Kazuo quickly glanced at the message before returning his attention to the guy. Reading the message Kazuya detoured attempting to make it to his brother in as little time as possible. It was dangerous confronting the thug in this area but he had crossed the line and needed to be punished. Kazuya texted back the street he was going to meet Kazuo one and stated he would be there in seconds.

Just as Kazuo hit send, he looked up to locate the guy only to find the guy standing before him. The guy sneered, and Kazuo instinctively shoved him to put distance between them. He couldn't figure out the guy managed to come towards him without him noticing. How could he have missed it? He turned to backtrack, hoping to buy time for Kazuya to get there. As he turned around, the guy had regained his balance and swung his fists in a downward motion, the handle of a pocketknife (that was still safely folded up) in his hand, and coming in contact with Kazuo's head.

Kazuo saw a bright light that became swallowed by darkness. He could feel himself falling, almost gently. The guy disappeared around the corner.
