do they honestly think that by putting a woman as the VP will distract women so much that they don't even realize that she's about as anti-woman as you can get?

Not only that, but she's three years younger than Obama and has way less experience than him. So basically John McCain can no longer say anything about Obama not being ready to lead, being too young or being too inexperienced. Which seemed to be his main fighting point. Because let's face it, the reality is that if John McCain's health suddenly fails, we have a person with about three years cumulative political experience and zero foreign policy experience who has to step up and run the country. Oh, and huge ties to big oil. Yeah. This seems like such a b.s. move by the Republicans who think if they win over the Hilary Clinton dems they'll win the election. It's just absurd. I'm totally dumbfounded by this decision, and I think it just might be the thing that loses the election for McCain.

that is SO awesome. i hadn't heard that part of it. but on that note, whenever i would hear people discussing mccain they'd say, "he better have a pretty good VP"...because it's pretty common knowledge that he's about to croak. i mean, sure, many people live to be 90...100... but idk about when you add a 80something year old to possibly the most stressful job in the world. i can't wait to see the debates!

i think we're going to see our first black president soon here :)
