i get that way with my art too. i look back on some of the things i've done, and it's a disappointment because they were created during a peak in my ability, and since then i've let myself become diminished. too many video games, too many days wasted just reading and re-reading books. my dearest wish is to be able to pursue artwork as a means of supporting myself, and i think that i avoid practice and perfecting my technique as a means of avoiding the inevitable disappointment of my eventual failure in that field.

...way to speak what's on my mind. heh.

the truth of the matter is i WISH i could just be content with what i can do, but really...every time i try drawing, i do what i think is good...then suddenly realize, it's nowhere NEAR where i want to be and inevitably rip up the page.

i mean, shit, i almost became an art teacher. and you know what they say about teachers...

"those who can't just instruct others", heh.

i don't know. i figure, just keep at it anyway. if you improve, then good. if you don't, then it's not for lack of trying.
