what software are you using? are you using drum loops at all?

no loops yet cause i couldn't figure out how to use the until yeterday i looped a synth line. now im thinking about looping some drums.

how are you recording the bass? direct never thickens enough. you have to mic, and it's gotta be a mic that reaches low enough to capture it too. you could try doubling the bass parts too. actually play them twice. EQ one of them reall low, muddy if you have to, and EQ the other for presence. them mix them at about 15-20% left and right for a nice stereo image. might sound cool. a (very) little fuzz on the low eq bass might help too.
