Prayers and Blessings for Japan

At 5:30 a.m., my baby sister woke me up to give me the most astonishing, heartbreaking, and terrible news: an earthquake of an 8.9 magnitude had taken place in Japan. Before becoming an Arashi fan, I would have cared about the people in Japan. But, I wouldn't have had a direct connection to any of its citizens. Now, after getting to know Arashi ( Read more... )

I know exactly how you feel. I've been listening and reading news about Japan all day long. I haven't rested one single minute. I even put my work and studies aside because of this catastrophe. There was no way I could concentrate knowing that many people had died and many more were still missing. The aftershocks scared me ten times more because they were equally strong. We still don't know if something else will happen, so I get why you would be scared of falling asleep and waking up to another hard reality. Earlier today, I wrote something alike to my friends on Facebook: "(In response to a comment stating that only by caring I was doing enough, I answered) I'm glad to know that there are many more that are OK than not. I also know that many countries are united today because of this. But, I still feel that many of us have the will to help these people and are unable to because of the distance between us. For the whole day, I've been trying to get more information on what's been happening and the news just seems to be getting worse and worse...
I really hope that everybody in Japan will be alright, it looks so devastating and awful there right now. I was too scared to go to sleep last night because I was afraid that when I woke up, something worse would have happened ><

I really wish all these disasters will end, I turn on the TV and all I see and hear about are people dying. I agree with you, we should stop hurting Earth, it's only going to end up hurting us.

I'm praying for you, people in Japan.

I can relate with you completely. My family and I, especially those sisters who also enjoy Asian entertainment, could do nothing more than search through the channels to find more information regarding what was taking place in Japan. Searching the web was also a must to keep up to date. It was terrible to read bad news after bad news after bad news. Even today, news are not really positive. But, I am still hopeful that Japan will rise again and rebuild. I wish there will come a day in which there will only be positive news. However, I will take this event as a warning for the things we are doing to our surroundings. It is not too late to stop and correct our wrongs. Ne?
