I am utterly frustrated right now...I've been sick myself so much in the past 2 months, but have had to deal with things as if I were in tip-top shape- that's life, I am a mum, a wife, student, and now Southern Region VP of the Wisconsin Marketing and Management Association, and I just got a job working for Family Financial heading up a new project ( Read more... )

Congrats on WMMA! I'm so proud of you! Nothing wrong with focusing on yourself, and you're right, some people just don't get it. I'm starting to believe that at least half the world's population has narcissism. But anyways, you seem to be the poster girl for success lately, so thumbs up and good luck with your new job!!

Thanks hun, I hope everything is going well for you as well. I was sad that you couldn't do the WMMA thing this year, but always keep it in mind for next- god knows I wouldn't have gotten as far as I had in such a short time without it. Speaking of posters there's going to be this HUGE one of me in the marketing lab this coming week- it was my campaign poster...I've had it "sitting" in my front seat since last week and people give me the weirdest looks when they drive by and see it....hahaha...yeah. You need to call me and we need to go out for cocktails or something.

how odd. we're on the EXACT same page.

my position: i'm letting those friends go that don't get it. i don't have the time, energy, or spare brain cycles anymore, full stop. if they get it together down the road, i'm here.

you know, you actually got me thinking. right now, i'm actually looking for a firm to handle a complete corporate rebranding along with web and literature redesign. perhaps you'd know the top firms in the area? cost is, as always, a factor.

Oh my dear John, I was just thinking about you the other day actually, swear to god I saw you leaving from the stop n rob (stop n go) near pewaukee lake..who knows. In any case, I do have quite a few connections with people who would handle corporate rebranding, and some friends who are actually contracting right now for web and lit. design. I am still on friendly terms with some of the graphic design agencies from when I was doing that, so like I said, I'll get out the word. It's not even a question that cost is a factor, being that I deal with it day in and day out.

I wish people were on the same page with us- wouldn't it just make our lives a hell of a lot easier? pfft.

you know, it's odd that we're talking about 'vp-ing it up' now - i just had a friend move back into the area. seven year photo major, out of school with no appreciable job skills, and angry with me because i'd 'rather' stay in and catch up on quotes than go out drinking.

it's frustrating, and i'm sure you can relate.
